She grew up surrounded by artists and creativity.

Her mother and grandmother, were both landscape and portrait painters, her father created sculptures from found objects for their gardens, her sister a jewellery and stained glass maker, her neighbor a potter. Another family member, created the Cross and Chalice for the Cathedral of Liverpool and another designed the Molson Export label.

Growing up in such a creative environment, Gwendolyn always knew she wanted to be an artist from the very beginning.
